Maple syrup is a delicious glaze over baked ham and many other meats. After basting ham with maple syrup, the juices are probably a little too sweet for soup, but makes a scrumptious pot of baked beans.

6 sweet potatoes 1 T. butter 1 cup apple juice 1/2 cup maple syrup 1 t. salt 1/2 cup water Boil potatoes until tender. Peel and slice into baking dish. Heat remaining ingredients to the boiling point; pour over potatoes and bake at 300F for 1 hour.

Syrup: 1-1/2 cup maple syrup 2 T. cornstarch Cook until thick. Add 1-1/2 t. vanilla. Pour over apples. Sprinkle on rest of topping. Bake at 350 F for 1 hour. Serve with whipped cream.

2 cup milk 1 pint vanilla ice cream 1/2 cup maple syrup In large bowl, with rotary beater, beat all ingredients until well combined. Serve at once in glasses.

3 eggs, beaten 1 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 T. melted butter 1 t. vanilla extract 1-1/4 cup pecan halves or pieces Line a 9" pie pan with your favorite crust. In bowl combine all ingredients. Pour in shell and bake in lower half of oven at 350 F. for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool.

Blend and sprinkle over apple mixture: 1 cup brown sugar (or maple sugar) 1 t. cinnamon 1/2 cup softened butter 1/2 cup flour 1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup nuts, if desired Bake at 350F 45 min. to 1hour.
